The third coordination meeting of the TEMPUS CruiseT in Georgia Print E-mail

BSMA_fullFrom 9 to 16 October 2014, the third coordination meeting within the project "Creating a network of centers of excellence for the development and support of cruise tourism in the Black Sea region." The meeting was organized and hosted by the project participants TEMPUS CruiseT - Batumi State Maritime Academy, Kutaisi University, Training University of Guram Tavartkiladze and Caucasus International University. This project is funded by the Standing Committee of the European Union.

10365745_983170765043074_251818178617307868_nThe participants of the meeting were about 100 representatives of administrative, educational and tourist organizations of operating agencies of the European Union, as well as from Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Slovakia, Georgia, Romania and Bulgaria. The meeting discussed the development of the cruise tourism industry in the Black Sea region. The meeting took place in three cities of Georgia - Batumi, Kutaisi and Tbilisi. Everyday work of the participants plenty of seasoned hospitality of our Georgian partners who, in fact, organized a nine-day tour of the beautiful and hospitable country.

The main objective of the project is the creation of the territory of Ukraine and Georgia on the development of competence centers, training and education of personnel for cruise tourism in the Black Sea region.

Experts note the significant progress in the development of the cruise port infrastructure Black Sea countries and the growing interest of tourists to our region. According to the calculations of tour operators, annual growth in the number of cruises calling at the ports of the Black Sea during the last five years, it does not fall below 10%, and in 2013 was more than 30%.

Experts believe - the project will greatly enhance the investment attractiveness of the region that will provide a more efficient use of all available resources and will contribute to the competitiveness of all the countries of the Black Sea region.
